Dymond

Unpredictable, exciting, full of energy! These are the best words to describe this young artist! She sings, dances, and is a very good actor! This is what we in the Industry like to call a triple threat! This is someone who you would have to see to believe!

At a very early age this young woman decided that entertainment would be her niche. By the age of five she was on stage singing at various churches and different functions. Through Gospel music she managed to express herself, develop her voice, and gain stage presence! While most of us were just learning how to read and write, Dymond was learning how to entertain! By the age of ten, she was a veteran of the stage. Dymond continued to pursue her dream even further participating in tryouts for both Star Search and Showtime at the Apollo! She even earned an out of town follow up tryout for Star Search, but due to her age it was decided that her school work was more important, and she was not allowed to participate! Yet she still continued!
At fourteen years old, she appeared in the Bethesda Academy of Performing of Arts Summer Festival, playing the role of “Lead Player” in the Broadway Play, “Pippins”. She entered many local talent contests and was the winner in over half of them. These contest include "The Miss Pre Teen Pageant", which she won Maryland Miss Hospitality, "D.C. Talent search", "Want To Be A Star" talent search and "The Time Is Now" talent search, just to name a few. Even though she won many of these showcases she never received the proper break and her talent was never discovered. This did not stop her though! Dymond continued in her quest to become an entertainer! By the age of sixteen, Dymond was one of the headliner acts for a teen singing and acting group called, City at Peace. She performed at the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts to rave reviews for her song, “Lead Me Safely to the Light” written by Rick Payton. Her acting and singing abilities captivated the audience. The show premiered on BET TV and the group traveled throughout the Washington Metropolitan Area. This group became very popular throughout the church and high school circuit

By the age of seventeen, she had entered and won countless school talent shows, Teen Pageants, and other local contest. Dymond had broken into the music industry through the D.C. Underground. Dymond hooked up with a local underground legend named, John Dough and put her beautiful voice on wax! She was released on the underground and tore it up with hit after hit, “Things Change” and “We Need to Talk“. Her voice became well known through the use of underground releases and mix tapes and it was thought to be only a matter of time before the world would get to hear her on a national level!
She chose to attend Howard University where she excelled even further! Dymond majored in musical theatre and acting. In her four years at Howard, she participated in over seven major school productions. By the time she was ready to graduate she had developed into a top notch actor as well as an incredible singer! Stardom seemed to be right around the corner. She graduated cum laude, in the class of 1999.

On a wing and a prayer she flew to California to pursue her dream even further. While in California she won many small roles in major motion pictures and TV, but still never really got the proper break that she needed! Dymond worked on the same set with big names like Martin Lawrence, Nia Long, Ice Cube, Leon, and Larenze Tate just to name a few. But with the politics of Hollywood, she was never given her proper time to shine! All of the things she had accomplished still did not pan out financially and she was forced to return home for financial reasons. This did not slow her down, she continued her acting and singing through local venues and vowed to make it back to California one day! Dymond hooked back up with John Dough and is currently working on her solo album titled, “It's Discussable”. Due to be released late 2003. She is doing independent films and small acting parts throughout the area. This young lady has a lot of drive, heart, and talent, and when God decides that it is her time to shine the world had better look out! Remember the name "Dymond" I guarantee that it will be in lights somewhere very soon! She has incredible talent and I don't feel that the world will be able to hold her back forever! Remember, Dymond is her name!
